PENSACOLA -- Former aircraft carrier USS Oriskany, now docked at the Port of Pensacola, is a step closer to its next mission as home to fish and coral. The 27,000-ton vessel, launched in 1945, is slated to become the first Navy combat ship used as an artificial reef. It will be sunk offshore in June at a Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission reef site.
